Founded by Cedric Pepelea, his experience in research, development, and non-profit sectors have fostered a resourcefulness to solving problems. Community Energy Coach Training
Throughout Cedric’s time at Sustainable Kingston, he supported homeowners through individual energy coaching sessions guiding them through the process of getting an energy audit, understanding their energy upgrade recommendations, helping them source contractors quotes, reviewing their quotes to ensure eligibility, and completing all program forms. Since launching, the Better Homes Kingston program participants have completed over 200 projects with an average GHG reduction of 64%. Much of the success of this program can be attributed to the high degree of involvement of the Energy Coach in supporting homeowners in completing their energy efficiency home retrofits.
Now Cedric offers support to other retrofit financing program administrators and interested municipalities through training and development of their very own Energy Coaches.
Workshops
A gifted educator, Cedric provides specialized energy efficiency related educational workshops on a number of topics.
Previously, he led the RETScreen Expert Clean Energy Management software workshop in Yellowknife to 22 energy leaders from Indigenous communities across Canada
Cedric has now developed and ran two new workshops in the “Heat Loss House”, a hands on educational activity for students to learn about building science and home heat loss, and the “Homeowner Retrofit Journey Simulator”, a workshop designed for municipalities and program partners to better understand the challenges faced by homeowners in completing home energy efficiency retrofit projects.
Public Speaking
As a confident public speaker, Cedric captures the audience's attention with his passion for social and environmental issues. He tailors his insights and diverse experiences to each event's specific needs. Past speaking engagements include being a guest on the Innovation in Motion series at the Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Social Impact (Smith School of Business), the Sustainable Kingston Podcast, YourTV Kingston, St. Lawrence College Sustainable Building Case Studies, and more.
Tool Development
CP Consulting uses and develops new IT tools to better support homeowners. This includes AI chatbots trained on the specific program rules for a more interactive Q&A function, using AI tools to extract a large amount of utility data used for measurement and verification of the Better Homes Kingston program, and more. Many other tools utilizing new powerful AI technology to automate tedious and time-consuming tasks to improve the consulting and reporting process and solve problems for our clients are in development.
Consulting
Cedric’s work through CP Logic has expanded with EnviroCentre working with multiple communities and other top consultants and partners in the energy sector. He continues supporting Sustainable Kingston and the Better Homes Kingston as an ongoing consultant with weekly involvement. Expanding to work with other consultants such as Enerva, Posterity Group, and Indigenous Clean Energy has allowed Cedric to bring in a group of experts as subcontracts and has a former student as his operations manager and a former instructor as his commercial energy auditor. Cedric works with experts from multiple disciplines to improve his and his clients’ processes.
